To Answer The Question that Many of You Have Been Wondering

Hey everyone,

Our last few posts have mentioned some of our last shows.  This has, no doubt, raised a lot of questions about the future of Lamppost.  So here is the answer:

We don't know either.

We haven't been trying to be secretive.  The truth is that the future of Lamppost is up in the air.  Many of us will be graduating in the spring and heading to separate cities.  We have grown into a family through our ups and downs, the good times and the bad, and it seems almost too weird for Lamppost to be anything but the five of us.  We love making music together, and are proud of the progress we have made as a band.

However, we also don't want our work to simply go away.  We've worked hard to get Lamppost to where it is, and releasing an album just before breaking up and never playing music again also seems too ludicrous to imagine as well.  We understand that bands routinely do have changes to their lineup, and this is not something we have ruled out.

As it stands, the future of Lamppost will go one of two ways: (1) We will end entirely and simply release the album as memories of what we've done, or (2) Lamppost will relocate to Portland and undergo a serious member change.

Regardless of what happens, we want to thank everyone for supporting us throughout our growth and especially in the funding of the album that is currently underway.

(Sidenote: the album is coming along beautifully!  We spent almost 60 hours tracking and recording, and now it is getting mixed in the studio.  We are hoping to release it in late May/early June.)

If you would like to see us perform as the Lamppost you have all grown to love, we have two shows left.  The first is HigFom Music Festival on April 28th.  This event will be at the MPR on Western's campus and is an all-day music festival.  The other will be our CD release show.  While that has yet to be locked down, we are shooting for early June before everyone graduates.

Again, we can't express how thankful we are for you all and how much we have loved the way Bellingham's community has come around us and enjoyed our music.  Lamppost's beginnings will always be very special to us, and you guys are the reason we can say that.  Thank you!

Sincerely,
LPR
